OldMapsOnline.org is easy-to-use gateway to historical maps in libraries around the world. OldMapsOnline.org is an Open Source project with online tools for old maps where one can browse old maps of any part/region/place in the world with available collection in the database. This is ideal online tool to browse through history by filtering wrt to geographic area, and also allows to analyze and compare it with the current map.
How to use OldMapsOnline.org:
- Zoom in or out, or drag the main map to sideways, until you cleary see the part of the place/region you want to old maps for. List of all the available maps fot the place will appear in the right pane on zooming-in or zooming-out.
- You can also use the search field on the top to find the place or define the time period of interest with the sliders.
