Transcend has recently launched its USB 3.0 interface flash drives, aka JetFlash 700 (JF700) . These are one of the first entry level USB 3.0 products to be launched. Resonably priced, the JetFlash 700 (JF700) range starts from storage space of 8GB and pricing from Rs. 1300.
As we all know the Super-Speed USB 3.0 standard offers amazingly fast data transfer speeds, however to achieve them you would need supporting hardware i.e. a motherboard supporting the technology.
As companies like MSI, Gigabyte and rest are already pouring motherboards with the new technology and with very attactive pricing we can now see the USB 3.0 standard picking up very fast.
The speed specifications mentioned by Transcend are Read 53 MByte/s, Write 15 MByte/s for 8GB and Read 70 MByte/s, Write 20 MByte/s for 16GB which is almost ten times faster than the Hi-speed USB 2.0.
