CWG 2010:Spectacular Closing Ceremony

Commonwealth Games 2010 closing ceremony was as spectacular as it was opening.

It is India’s best ever performance in Commonwealth Games since inception winning 38 Golds, 27 Silvers and 36 Bronze medals taking tally to 101.  Main attraction of closing ceremony was Saina Nehwal. As expected, stadium was jam packed and was fully sold out.

Some of the highlights of closing ceremony were

• Bagpiper Music from Scotland, Martial Arts Performances
• $9 million Aero Stat Spectacle
• Music performances from Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Shaobha Mudgal, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Zila Khan and also Indian Idol Winner Shriram.

Those among the VIP list were

• Manindra Rajapaksha, President of  Sri Lanka
• Jigme Namgyal Wanchuk, Prince of Bhutan
• Pratibha Patiil, President of India
• Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India
• Sonia Gandhi, Congress President
